MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Isaac Hayes, the pioneering singer, songwriter and musician whose relentless ''Theme From Shaft'' won Academy and Grammy awards, has been found dead at home. He was 65.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office says a family member found Hayes unresponsive near a treadmill on Sunday. He was pronounced dead about an hour later at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. The cause of death was not immediately known.

In the early 1970s, Hayes laid the groundwork for disco, for what became known as urban-contemporary music and for romantic crooners like Barry White. And he was rapping before there was rap.

His career hit another high in 1997 when he became the voice of Chef, the sensible school cook and devoted ladies man on the animated TV show ''South Park.''

ok. is this bad? i joined the "addicted to sex and the city" fan community on facebook. unfortunately that is not issue. in one day i've racked up 8030 points in the trivia section. the highest weekly score is 9320 points. i'm sure i could be number one next week. the list of 10 individuals consist of female fans. i feel as though i might be an oddball of the weekly high score list. i can't help that i enjoy sex and the city and i absorb it. is it bad that i know so much about sex and the city and i am the only male that could possibly be on the top 10 points of the week?

my desktop manager for blackberry is running... about 20 more minutes until the new os is loaded...

4.5 release: 4.5.0.75 (app .52) for 8120/8320

there was a lot of issues with the beta releases... one even had a bad case of frying sim cards. this is an official release, not a beta.

i ran across it this morning on pinstack. i am SUPER excited as i have been waiting for months to install this os. i will get a whole new blackberry, un realistically speaking.

some features to include streaming youtube from the browser, video recording and sending, better memory handling, among many others. and one in particular that i want to test would be the uma capability. supposedly this version does not drop calls when going from uma (voip) to carrier during a call. it supposedly is a smooth transition now. i really hope so. it wasn't so bad on the current os but it was an issue at times. but how can you complain about free calling from your mobile device?

so obviously i'm excited... as soon as i seen the posting about the release i immediately asked my roommate if i could borrow his windows (blegh) laptop. i shouldn't hate on the windows laptop since otherwise i would not be able to load this software. rim technologies has to develop a better relationship with mac users. pocketsync just will not cut it. its a useless software! USELESS!

also i'm hoping the new os will help with my jivetalk issues. i sometimes get disconnected from the servers and lose my chatting capabilities unless i reboot my phone. its a pain, so that explains why i haven't been on messenger much lately..

omg, its almost done i can hear it dinging that its already loaded the os and is just reinstalling my base apps and third party apps.. yay! i will return with my findings...

happy day!

Smash-hit Broadway musical WICKED is set to become the latest stageshow to be turned into a major movie.

Hot on the heels of Chicago, Hairspray and Mamma Mia!, the Wizard of Oz-related musical is to be turned a new Universal film, with producers Marc Platt and Stephen Schwartz.

But Universal boss Donna Langley insists fans will have to wait some time to see the film - because Platt and Schwarz are determined to take their time to ensure the movie repeats the success of the New York show that inspired the project.

Langley tells Variety magazine, "Our goal now is absolutely to make the Wicked film, but... Marc and Stephen Schwartz are very mindful of the right timing. But we're dying to do it."

The limited-batch ice cream, made from 'an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks,' is a take-off on his 1970s album and song 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.' It will be available from July 18 to July 25 in the company's Vermont scoop shops, with proceeds going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, officials said Tuesday.

Who pulled my girlfriends hair seemed to be the lesbian theme of the party in castro.

Lots of walking. Actually, all I did was walk. There were tons of taxis but none available! I got my shuffle on...

Would have been more fun if rich were there... Some "tragic" references were necessary!

Had a great time tonight. Time for bed.

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- More than 100 Los Angeles-area firefighters are battling a large fire on a back lot at Universal Studios, fire authorities said.

Filming may have been going on at the time the fire broke out early Sunday on the Universal Studios back lot.

There were also reports of an explosion in the studio's adjacent amusement park, said Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Frank Reynoso.

The three-alarm blaze began about 4:45 a.m. PT (7:45 a.m. ET) Sunday and reportedly damaged two "prop" buildings, including a chapel, and a popular ride called the "Cyclone," Reynoso said.

"It will be awhile before we have it under control," he said.

Television footage showed the blaze burning through the roofs of structures at the park and large plumes of smoke.

Firefighters were dropping water on the blaze from helicopters.

"We don't know what the cause of this is," Reynoso said.

Reynoso said he heard reports that filming may have been going on when the fire broke out.
